How to set up a blog post in wordpress
You’ve launched your website, it’s looking gorgeous with your branding on point, your message is coming across loud and clear. Now what?
It’s time to start writing to your audience and creating engaging and interesting content regularly to draw people to you.
But how do you create blog posts?
- The first thing you need to do if you haven’t already, is go to the pages tab in your wordpress dashboard and create a new page entitled ‘Blog’.
But there’s a problem… now that you’ve created your blog page, where and how do you write your content to share with the world?
Well, we’ve got you covered!
- Nip back into your wordpress dashboard, into your reading settings under your Settings tab. (It makes perfect sense for it to be in ‘reading’ because you read a blog, don’t you?!)
Contained on this page are the settings for your homepage and how you want it to be displayed. Presumably as you have a website rather than a full-time blog, your homepage should display ‘a static page’, usually with ‘homepage’ as your homepage.
- Change your ‘post page’ settings to blog and this will pull all your posts into your blog page.
- Once your settings are made, simply go into your posts tab, create a new post and start crafting your amazing content.
Once you click on the publish button, all your posts now and in the future will be pulled through to your blog page for your audience to access in once place.
How simple is that?!
